Founded in Knoxville in 1794, the institution that would become the
University of Tennessee is the state’s land-grant, higher-education
institution and flagship public university. It is comprised of campuses at
Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Martin.  The University of Tennessee system
has a presence in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties.  The distance learning
programs available through UT are clearly outlined on the main website
page. Currently, UT offers over 40 Web-delivered programs leading to
degrees and certificates and continues to see increases in enrollment each
semester. Graduate programs include Agricultural Sciences and Natural
Resources, Education, Engineering Family and Consumer Sciences,
nursing, Information / Library Science, and Business

East Tennessee State University opened its doors in 1911 to prepare
teachers for the region's public schools and has been serving the Northeast
Tennessee community ever since. The distance education site is easy to
locate; simply go to Online Education on the main page.   ETSU offers over
100 courses a semester and four degree programs, completely online. The
school offers Bachelor of Sciences in Interdisciplinary Studies, Professional
Studies, and General Studies.  Graduate online programs include
Education and Nursing.

Tennessee State University is a comprehensive urban coeducational
land-grant university founded in 1912 in Nashville. Tennessee State
University (TSU) has joined with the other TBR institutions in offering the
Regents Online Degree Programs (RODP). Undergraduate online degrees
include Bachelor of Professional Studies with concentrations in Information
Technology or Organizational Leadership and Bachelor of Interdisciplinary
Studies (General Studies/Liberal Studies/University Studies). Graduate
online degrees include Master of Professional Studies - Strategic
Leadership, Master of Education and a Master of Science in Nursing.
